Jordan Nine Yards Chardonnay leaves us in tasting the following shades:
Greenish yellow elegant. Pungent odor, lemon - lime and orange peel with complex mineral citrus. The taste is explosive fruit, rich and subtly balanced with well integrated toasted French oak, tropical peach and melon to an end by mouth.
With over 300 years of history, in 1982 Gary, Ted and Sheelag bought this farm more than 146 acres in Stellenbosch, embarking on an extensive reforestation program, specializing in classic varieties adapted to each soil type, but was in 1993 when his sons Gary and Kathy Jordan, managed to place its wines among the highlights. It was from the year in which the production of its wines has managed to give a classic elegance, without losing the historical characteristics of the area. Once in the winery is subjected to a soft stripping and a crushed and pressed to leave the resulting juice fermented in French oak barrels of 228 liters Traditional (95% and 5% of new second year) of selected Burgundian coopers (François Frères, Rousseau, Seguin Moreau and Taransaud). They were then inoculated with a yeast selection French. A percentage of the wine is left to ferment naturally to finally leave to mature for 12 months in barrels rolling to accentuate the rich character of the wine.
